Mª Luisa Martínez

Mª Luisa Martínez has a doctorate “cum laude” in Health Psychology from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Alicante). Specifically, her research activities generally focus on understanding and analysing the problem of IPV and reflecting on the role of the judicial system in relation to intervention in cases of such abuse.
She has been practising professionally since 2003 in the field of psychosocial intervention and psychotherapy, juvenile justice and protection, focusing especially on working with children, adolescents and families. To this end, her main frame of reference has been the Systemic Model of Intervention in Family Therapy (Centre for Phase-Based Family Therapy of Valencia; accreditation by the FEATF (Spanish Federation of Family Therapy Associations) and FEAP (Spanish Federation of Psychotherapy Associations), Psychocorporal Therapy (Espacio Movimiento Río Abierto España) and Criminology (University Expert in Criminology from UNED (National Distance Education University)). In the field of teaching, she currently teaches psychology subjects in the University Specialist Diploma in Intervention and Family Therapy and in the Master’s Degree in Intervention and Family Therapy, organised by the Alicante Family Institute and UMH.
She is a member of SEVIFIP (Spanish Society for the Study of Child-Parental Violence) and in recent years has participated in more than thirty congresses, symposiums and conferences on child-parent violence, and has published various articles on child-to-parent abuse.
